TO THE FIRST BALKAN SYMPOSIUM
ON FRUIT GROWING

Plovdiv, 15-17 November 2007

Dear Colleagues,

In 2007 we will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Fruit Growing
Institute in Plovdiv. The central event of the planned activities will be "The First Balkan Symposium on Fruit Growing" under the auspices of ISHS. The proceedings will be published in Acta Horticulturae.

The organizers’ intention is to provide conditions for a fruitful work and effective research and personal contact. The discussions will renew the opportunities for exchanging of ideas on the new trends in fruit growing science.

The symposium will be held in Plovdiv – ancient and modern town, rich of history, culture and natural beauty.

So far, more than 50 scientists and specialists from 14 countries have confirmed their participation at the Symposium with more than 70 papers and posters, that will be divided into three sections in two working days.

We look forward to welcoming you in Plovdiv.
